Update, 3/28/17:  Message to the UNM community from Rob Doughty, Regent President and Search Committee Chair:

Dear members of the UNM Community,

Upon recommendation of the Presidential Search Committee and UNM’s search consultant, Isaacson, Miller, I will extend the current Presidential Search into the coming academic year.  The Presidential Search Committee knew that our initial search schedule was ambitious and would closely coincide with the end of the semester.  We are excited about our work thus far and current pool of candidates, and feel this approach gives us the best chance of achieving a successful outcome.

The search committee expressed a desire to slow down the search process, as it would provide more time to review and evaluate candidates.  An extension into the fall semester, once faculty and students return to campus, ensures that all members of the campus community have the opportunity to fully engage in the search process.

Our current leadership team, led by Acting President Abdallah, will continue working to address the many issues facing the University, and position us to successfully complete the search in the coming academic year.  Any further updates or additional information will be posted at
